CDPA is collecting information to be included in the Association' s member directory, what we're dubbing "The Paralegal's Assistant."
In our roles as paralegals, we're sometimes called upon by our attorneys to help with projects that are outside of our comfort zone, the areas of law that we know best and work in most frequently. Our goal is to create a directory that will serve as a resource for us when faced with such a project. Our membership is made up of professionals from a fairly wide range of practice areas and the directory would be a way for us to support each other.
Think about what you use most commonly in your job- web sites, publications, legal news sources, vendors- anything or anybody that helps you support your attorneys. The tools that you have become comfortable with and go to regularly in the normal course of your day are precisely what someone who feels out of their element would benefit from knowing about.
No matter what area of law we work in, we all use resources that are focused on what we do. Nothing is too trivial to share with a fellow paralegal who is looking for a starting point. Our goal is to create a directory in which we can share our accumulated knowledge with our fellow association members.
Student members should also feel free to contribute as well; send us information about materials you've come across that have been helpful in your studies.
Here's what we need from you: Please send your suggestions for items to include in the directory to vicepresident@cdpa.info with a brief description of what you use if for and the value it provides.
