Professional Development Committee
The Professional Development committee works on issues
affecting the paralegal profession and works on ways to advance
the profession.

Further, the committee is in charge of implementing methods
necessary to effectively approach issues concerning the paralegal
profession, as well as dealing with issues involving the regulation of
the profession. Members work closely together in the process of
defining the problems and/or issues involving the paralegal
profession and identify ways to improve it.

The committee has been working on issues involving regulation of
the paralegal profession in conjunction with the other member
associations of the
Empire State Alliance of Paralegal Associations.
Surveys of paralegals across New York State have been conducted
and various proposals on forms of regulation are currently being
developed for consideration by each association and its members.

Meetings of the committee are held at the discretion of the Director
and are dependent upon the issues affecting the paralegal
profession at any given time.

For more information on other topics the committee is currently
working on, or to inquire as to how to become involved with the
committee, please contact the
Director of this committee.
