Pro Bono Committee
CDPA is very involved in various Pro Bono activities in the Capital
District and has increased its involvement significantly with the
Albany County Bar Association on the many Pro Bono activites
conducted by them, such as the Run Against Domestic Violence
and Law Day Clinics, as well as various clinics sponsored by The
Legal Project. The committee has also worked on getting the
association more involved with Senior Law Day, sponsored by the
Government Law Center of the Albany Law School.

The committee works on contacting various not-for profit agencies
to determine a need for our membership to participate in pro bono
activities. The committee is then in charge of notifying and
recruiting members of the association to volunteer/participate in
such pro bono activites. The committee then works closely with
the various organizations/associations to make the necessary
arrangements to involve our membership. This committee meets on
an as needed basis, depending on the need to conduct a meeting.

CDPA prides itself on its involvement with pro bono activities and
encourages all members to get involved to assist those members of
the community who cannot otherwise afford to pay for legal
services. Our goal is to to use our knowledge and provide our
services to assist those people who need it the most. We are an
association not only for paralegals, but for the general public as
well and there is no better way to show this than through the Pro
Bono Committee. We have certainly proven that when it comes to
assisting the public, CDPA is a very strong alliance of members
and will continue to be.
